The Organizer's Toolbox

As I was filling my toolbox and bag with all of the essential organizer supplies, my dad questioned why I was putting highlighters and post its in a toolbox. Okay, fine. It’s not your typical toolbox that you keep in the closet for the rainy day you need to hang a shelf or put something back together - but it is full of useful, necessary supplies that assist in getting yourself organized. I mean, what fun is organizing if you can’t color coordinate, label, or tie the cords together!

What’s in my toolbox?

  • Label Maker: the number one most important item in my toolbox

  • Extra label tape!

  • Highlighters

  • Post it notes (variety of colors and sizes)

  • Pens and pencils

  • Sharpies (also variety of colors and sizes)

  • File Labels

  • Scissors

  • Tape

  • Index cards

  • Letter opener

  • Tape measure

  • White out

  • Extra batteries

  • Cable ties

  • Packing tape

  • Stapler

  • Staple remover

  • Hole punch

  • Duck tape

  • Push pins

  • Variety of hanging folders and file folders

My toolbox has everything I might need when I am organizing with a client, or organizing myself. Some things get used much more frequently than others, but it’s important to keep everything always in stock!

You might be thinking - why is this beneficial to me if I’m not an organizer? We are all organizers, aren’t we? We should always have these items in our home so we can keep our spaces tidy and organized.

What other items do you need in your own organizing toolbox?
