Getting Through This
What we are experiencing right now is not a normal or usual experience, and we hope to never experience this again in our lifetime. We, globally, are going through a shared experience, a shared grief, a shared change of our “normal’ way of life.
Start Small
Often times we don’t realize how much we want to or need to get organized until it becomes overwhelming. We set aside a whole day or put a lot of pressure on ourselves to “get it all done” and “do it now,” and in reality when we try to start, we get overwhelmed and don’t begin.
How to Get Started
People often tell me they want to get more organized or go through their clutter and often can’t figure out where to start or why they “can’t” start.
Most Common Donations
When we clear out, we want to make sure the items we are discarding are going to places to be reused or recycled properly.
Organizing Your Closet
The closet (or wherever you store your clothes), has to work for you and your life. Your closet also has to work for how you think about getting dressed and picking outfits in order to make it the most efficient and effective process.
Keeping Track of It All
We have passwords and accounts for everything. We have things that automatically renew, either through a subscription monthly, bimonthly, even annually.
The Heaviness of Our “Stuff”
Have you ever had the feeling that your things are weighing you down? I mean physically, your stuff makes your body feel heavy or stressed or anxious.
Digitally Cluttered
This past month, I upgraded my 7 year old computer for a new one. In the past it was such a challenge to move files from one computer to a new one, and often things would get lost, or computers would get backed up on external hard drives, never to be used again.
